Our morning show is actually made up of a whole bunch of dramas that happen behind the scenes.  Watch as late video comes into the newsroom during the show.

See you in the morning.

My New Blog

posted on February 13th, 2009 - Filed in Uncategorized - 28 comments »

Hi friends… I’m late in this blog, vlog, game but like they say… better late than never. So here’s my ‘official’ first one. I must admit… Kevin Frankish is partly to blame (or thank, depending on how you slice it). You see… he passed his camera over to me on Wednesday to take over his blog (yes kids…he passed his homework onto ME…please don’t do that to your friends or siblings)… and well… it was fun!
What can you expect from my entries? The usual random thoughts interspersed with random video about absolutely anything and everything that moves me (be afraid, be very afraid).
Some entries may be brief… some may be epic…all will try to amuse you (whether you laugh at or with me, I’m not picky).
That said…Cupid is calling me but before I go, I wanted to address something…many of you have sounded off in our inbox  today… saying you don’t care for Valentine’s Day, that it’s a huge marketing ploy and you hate all of the fuss and talk… I hear you and fully get that… BUT (come on, you knew it was coming)…I really believe that it gives us a day to step back and celebrate love and all those we may take for granted if not for the hallmark reminder… be it a spouse, partner, parent, child, friend, co-worker…celebrating love is always a good thing right? Whether or not you choose to include a commercial card and chocolates with the whole thing is your choice to make and only sweetens the deal.
Have an awesome loooooong weekend of  celebrating love  – Monday is family day after all, and we, your BT famiglia promise to spend it with all of you, our extended family, frist thing Monday morning starting at 6am!
Have a great weekend, ciao for now,
Dina

My final advice when picking blooms you can go almost everywhere from a grocery store to a flower shop however when choosing look for freshness.  Look not only at flowers but look for buds, also look at the foliage of the cuts as stems with rotten leaves our moldy leaves are a good indicator of poor quality.  Finally cut stems and immediately place in a clean vase with floral preserve to insure longevity.

Happy V-Day,

Frankie

You know those changeable marquee signs you drive by and someone has put on them “THE BOSS TOLD ME TO CHANGE THE SIGN…SO I DID.”  Well, today’s After-Show Blog should be titled “THE BOSS TOLD ME TO CHANGE THE BLOG…SO I DID!”  Sorry it’s been awhile.

See you in the morning

David Cassidy is still Dreamy

We had an amazing time at Blue Mountain!!  On Thursday I enjoyed spending the morning at  Le Scandinave, only a few minutes away from the hill.  The Hot Baths were so relaxing and I also had a Swedish Message.  We took a roll in the snow before entering the baths. It makes you feel like you’re in Europe.  It was cold but it was worth it.  Check out the pictures from our luxury spa experience and also see pictures from our incredible show at Blue Mountain on Friday.  Thanks to everyone who came out and watched.  I’m hooked again and so are my kids.

To purchase a Life Experiences Gift Card for Le Scandinave CLICK HERE.

My sister went to see David Cassidy on Thursday at The Rose Theatre in Brampton.  I couldn’t go because I was up North shooting the shows but she sent me this picture (she’s the one on the left in the burgundy sweater).  She still has a smile on her face.  She said he is still as dreamy as ever.  Lots of great shows coming up at The Rose Theatre CLICK HERE for the website.

On Saturday I bowled for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto.  Bowl for Kids Sake Media Day was a huge success.  I used my new bowling ball for the first time and the 11 pounds did the trick.   Thanks to everyone who came out to support Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto.
Take Care

Cacti – Not only hardy but native to Ontario!!

posted on February 4th, 2009 - Filed in Uncategorized - No comments »

I really had to share this email as it even amazes me that cacti are not only hardy to Ontario but they are also considered a native plant!!

Hi my name is Tracy Hussey I live in St. George Ontario just north of Brantford.  I have attached pictures of my Prickly Pear cactus plants, they are awesome very pretty, hardy and extremely easy to take care .  I have a lot of comments about them, people do not believe that they are outside plants and claim that I have to be pulling them up and keeping them inside for the winter.  One of the plants is about 8 years old the others are about 4 years old and they are from shoots of the original plant. They are on the south side of my house and under the roof ledge, they are planted in regular dirt not sand although I did add a thin layer of sand with some river rocks on top to make it look desert like. Last year I had tons of flowers, I also added a picture of a snake that took to the cactus and lives around them and even had a load of babies last summer at the back of my house (the snakes keep the moles away from the house so they are completely welcome). I hope you enjoy my pictures as I am very proud of my Cactus Garden.
Yours Truly,
Tracy Hussey
Tracy thanks for sharing your pictures and your story.  This is known as the Eastern Prickly Pear Cacti (Opuntia humifusa) .  An exceptionally hardy plant that is not only easy to grow but also great for very dry areas.  What I really like about the Eastern Prickly Pear is the shock factor that many friends have when they visit and see cacti growing in your garden.  Reminds me of Vegas but these give back more than the slot machine!!  For more info visit www.wildflowerfarm.com
Keep blooming,
Frankie
