The wicked wizard of Roz!!!

posted on February 23rd, 2010 - Filed in Uncategorized - 6 comments »

A tell all and then some!!! Listen…I was the first one who wanted to believe that beautiful Roz was being played but did she ever show her ugly, true colours last night!!!! Defiant, defensive and in total denial! There she faced woman after woman who shared eyewitness accounts of her ‘inappropriate’ relationship with the producer and she had the nerve to not only deny it all, but to try and throw everyone else under the bus including the host!!! She was condescending and calculated and cold. I hate writing this as I always want to see the best in people….I am no one and have no right to judge…but that was so tough to watch…I hope she’s able to dig deep, reflect and aim to be a better human being for the good of her and her son…here’s my take…she left silently and dumbfounded because she was convinced they had 24 hour surveillance cameras on her to serve as proof…as soon as she found out they didn’t…she knew she could deny it ’til the cows come home and it’s nothing more than a ‘he said, she said,’ or in this case, a ’she said, she said.’ Its not just one of the contestants who witnessed things…it was many! And she admitted to the producer recently visiting her with his dad!! Clearly there is some sort of relationshop there. Unbelievable. Gia was bang on….best she just admitted it in the first place and moved on. As for Ali…I’m convinced she’s next in line as Bachelorette….she was being groomed to set the stage for her entrance by apologizing to Vienna and giving the speech about how the shows serves as a wonderful platform to find love. Speaking of….here’s the great news I promised…as you well know, our lovely and talented April Kalloo is engaged and very very close to landing a competition to win the dress of her dreams on ‘Say yes to the dress’…she needs your help to break the top spot…please vote by visiting http://www.theringbearer.ca/kleinfeld.php?v=ratings&story=2 and be sure to watch her beautiful and moving video…goooo April! We love you!!

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK!

As promised….here’s a preview into the hottest fashion show in New York City during last week’s Fashion Week. They flew me down to the big apple to preview Oscar De La Renta’s incredible Fall 2010 Collection. The best part? I actually got some one on one time (however brief) with the living fashion legend!!!
He is 77 years young…as tall as I am in heels and dare I say it….extremely handsome and charming. I left with a bit of a crush…something so sincere about his warm eyes…ok….I’ll stop.
If you didn’t know….we are working on a massive special focussing on Oscar and can not wait for him to showcase his collection in our fair city for the first time ever in mid-April! Yes, this is THE first time Oscar is visiting our Toronto to show his collection and we are honoured to host him.
It is going to be a party and a half and we owe it all to the super lovely and talented Suzanne Rogers…she and Oscar are great friends (they are also working together on a children’s charity)….and…. she managed to convince him that we need a hit of OSCAR! You can hear her talk all about it when she visits us on set tomorrow morning (Tuesday).
VIP’s at his New York show included Barbara Walters (imagine my surprise upon realizing it was her who brushed my shoulder while making her way into the show), Jessica Biel, stylist Rachel Zoe, Vogue’s Anna Wintour….it was soo exciting….and so was our ‘play time’ after all of the ‘business’ was said and done….if you head to NYC anytime soon…you must dine at the Stanton Social….the brilliant chef Chris Santos cooks up the most delicious tapas including Red Snapper tacos, French Onion soup dumplings, homemade Donuts…Crab Cakes on a Corn dog, the list goes on and on…what an amazing guy, you must ask to meet him when you go! Super talented, scrumptious food and really cool ambience!! If you’re reading this Chris….. the invite to come on our show (and wow our audience with your creative tapas) still stands!
And then…it was off to Apothecary bar in China town…Maybelline supermodel Erin Wasson was chilling out in this awesome bar that serves up martini’s that aid you….(stress relief, beauty bevvies etc)….a martini detox? Oxymoron I know….only in New York. And ONLY in New York do you meet strangers at your table and then head out to enjoy the town like old friends…these lovely girls from Minneapolis were so much fun to hang out with….one is a lawyer and the other was testing the Manhattan waters before making the big move to work PR in NYC…..speaking of NEW YORK…stay tuned for an exciting announcement about our lovely April Kalloo….she needs your help for something really important and super cool and it would be an amazing story for all involved if we help make her dream come true. I’m saying too much. Will tell you all about it in tomorrow’s blog….I’m adding it onto my Bachelor blog tomorrow. Enjoy the tell-all episode tonight!

A Gem in the City of Toronto!!

posted on February 19th, 2010 - Filed in Uncategorized - 2 comments »

love my job!! I always find that it takes me to some wonderful places and yesterday and just another example of the Gem’s we have in the City of Toronto!!

One gem the Toronto Botanical Gardens (of course I knew about this one) is hosting an event this weekend called Jump on Spring at TBG on Saturday Feb 20th from 10 to 4pm. At the event they will be selling wonderful planters made by the “Green Thumb” Volunteers at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre. The volunteers range in age from 50 to 95. The true Gem of my adventure yesterday wasn’t just meeting the volunteers but seeing their work space and growing place. A small quaint little greenhouse attached to Mclean house on the property of Sunnybrook estate (See attached Video). With a root cellar, compost pile, seeding room and a greenhouse packed with plants I personally think this would be the best volunteer job in the City. The group is always looking for volunteers and if you are interested click here: http://sunnybrook.ca/content/?page=volunteer_about

What a great guy that Ty Pennington is! I don’t know about you…but I’ve been a serious fan of his ever since I saw him throw his hammer down on Trading Spaces, he’s one of those larger than life, REALLY relatable people that seem destined for great things.
What a talented guy and sooo much fun (even at the ungodly hours we keep over here at BT). He showed up ready and rarin’ to go and game for anything….armed with wit and charisma and loads of ENERGY!!!
The entire staff was inamoured with him and came out in droves for a photo of the reality star. He is exactly how he seems on the hit show Extreme Makeover Home Edition which is now celebrating it’s 7th season!! The guy has so much going on and gave our audience a huge tease as to an exciting Canadian project he’s cooking up….can’t wait to hear more…be prepared to run into him at your local coffee shop very soon.
Until then, get your TY fix by checking out a brand new episode of EM HM right here on CityTV, Sunday night, 8pm….the one and only Gene Simmons of KISS fame guest stars! And check him out today at the National Home Show at the Ex. He’s there at 2pm and 6pm. Drop him a line via Twitter….he’d love it. What a great guy….and yes…I won the arm wrestle (see photo)….he’s not here to defend himself so that’s my story and I’m sticking it to it.
Open invite Ty….anytime…we will TY one on again in the lobby….had to…sorry.

P.s. check out by blog on Monday for your sneak peek into my exciting 2 day trip to the big apple during Fashion Week! You won’t believe who I literally bumped into!!

Today I spent the morning with Russell Oliver and some BT Viewers. We gave away prizes worth over 2000 in every segment…Oh Ya!! Check it out on BT Bites…Oh Ya!!

Ty Pennington stopped by the station to chat with Dina. In between segments I ran over to meet him. He was already leaving in his truck when I stopped him in the middle of the road…I don’t recommend this. Ha Ha. He was more than happy to jump out of the car and give me a hug and take a photo. What an Awesome Guy!

I also met Wendy from Orton (Big Fan of BT). I took her back to the lobby to meet the Gang….she was sooooo excited. Great to meet you Wendy.

Sam the Handy Man came out this morning with his family to say Hello…he does Roofs, Skylights, Chimneys and more. Go to www.sam-the-handyman.com for more info

Have a Great Day
