We LOVE our Jillian Harris

Be still our melting hearts….there is a reason why Jillian Harris is the most loved Bachelorette EVER! We were lucky enough to have her return to BT today and she is just as lovely and sweet and down to Earth as she was when she last visited. A beautiful woman inside and out, I just can’t get enough of this sweet pea…our Jill talks about her love of family, food and fashion (Jillian, we love you so much and are thrilled to have you come by whenever you are free). Be sure to follow her on Twitter as she gets you up to speed on her upcoming nuptuals and all other fun, juicy, stuff. (Jillian and Ed…we wish you the very best). As for her sweet grandmother in B.C…everyone here in Toronto wants you to get well soon so you can be in ship shape for your beautiful granddaughters wedding!
Love always…
Dina

On Saturday I hosted the Main Stage at the Green Living Show. Colin Firth received an inaugural award, the Green Living/Environmental Media Association Entertainers for a Green Economy Award. This award recognizes and honours a celebrity who is promoting a green economy in the most creative and influential ways – with innovative eco business solutions.

Colin and Livia Firth, and Nicola Guiggioli were recognized for their unique retail concept, Eco Age, founded in 2007. Britain’s first “ecological destination store” offers contemporary, artisan-made, ethical, Fair-trade and eco goods, and the services of environmental experts to help homeowners and business leaders make their spaces more energy efficient. Eco Age is leading the charge in bringing eco, ethical and sustainable products to the mainstream in our global economy though both consulting and retail.

Amy Smart has been advocating for the environment since she was 18 years old and presented the Award to Colin and Nicola. She is also

the Chairperson of EMA’s Young Hollywood Board.

Hi all…Dina here (ghost writing for my good pal Kevin Frankish today)….please make sure you head on out and pick up what polluters leave behind to beautify your surroundings! The ‘official’ clean up time is set for 2pm but that’s not as important as doing whatever you can, whenever you see it on the floor! You will feel better for doing it (we sure do!)….have a wonderful and safe weekend all….

Remember to stop and do whatever you can (big or small), to lead by example today!!! It’s a reminder to make every day Earth day as we pick up litter, recycle that paper cup we buy during our coffee break, or walk instead of drive to the corner store or to our children’s school tonight. The weather is certainly co-operating….unplug your appliances (get them off ‘the grid’ if you’re not using them)….air dry that laundry instead of using your dryer….it takes a little to do a lot for this beautiful planet we all share. Here’s to a greener place for our children and our children’s children….

Today is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day a time to celebrate everything green. Gardening can be one of the greenest activities you can do for yourself, your community and the extended environment around you. The key for a garden that’s green is to pick plants that work. Plants that don’t require chemicals or synthetic fertilizers to keep them growing and the best ones are those native to your area!! Native plants are generally easy to grow and provide habitat for all things wildlife as well as help improve air quality, cool our city streets and improve the curb appeal of our homes. How do you know if a plant is native?? First ask your local garden centre like Sheridan Nurseries for Native Plants selections and the newest way is go to the web and go to the new Ontario Tree Atlas. With just a few clicks finding out the right plant from your yard is effortless. Enjoy.
