    Good Morning Kevin,

I don’t want to shoot the messenger but I really must comment on your remark this morning regarding the Go Transit delay. You commented on the fact that it was only running 10 minutes late. I know that this does not seem like much but it is more the consistency with how often the train is running late rather than the length of time is it behind schedule. I live in Oshawa and work in the downtown core so today’s delay does not affect me directly. Also, luckily I am working from home the rest of this week so do not have the frustration of train delays, etc. The Go Train is always running late or cancelled altogether for the same reasons, which are either switch or signal problems. I can’t count how many times this past winter alone we were left standing outside in freezing temps waiting for a train to come in that was not on it’s way for these supposed reasons. Not once did they stop to think to bring in Go Buses at the very least for us to either wait on and stay out of the cold or to transport us to the location that the train was stopped at. The station in Oshawa is nowhere large enough to house and keep warm the amount of people that have had to wait for train delays, etc and I can’t believe that they would not even think in freezing temps of this fact and at least make an attempt to try and make us somewhat comfortable.

I just wanted to let you know that I am sure there are other Go riders who feel the same way I do and really don’t care to hear it implied that this is acceptable when you say the train is only 10 minutes behind. Also I don’t know if you are aware or not but the only time Go will give us a credit for running late is if they are 45 minutes behind schedule. Maybe if Go was made to credit us every time they are 10 minutes or more behind schedule they might try to make more of an effort to be on schedule.

Thanks for letting me vent and have a great day!

    Jackie
